tREATMENT OF CHILDREN WITH NEUROMUSCULAR CONDITIONS

The treatment of children with neuromuscular conditions such as myopathies, diagnosed or undiagnosed syndromes, and Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT), can be different compared to the treatment offered in cerebral palsy. All children are assessed on an individual basis, in order to identify deformities, as far as limb and spinal alignment is concerned, the child’s individual potential, and prognosis. We offer treatment in the sense of advice for physiotherapy, orthotics and aids for gait, gait analysis if necessary, as well as surgical intervention when required. Our surgeon has a specific interest for the treatment of cavovarus (high arch foot) in Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease with excellent results.
